True Worshippers International Ministries is being recognized by the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) National Child ID Program for joining Bishop T.D. Jakes in the largest faith-based family safety initiative in U.S. history. The Family ID Kits are used to provide critical information to law enforcement if a family member goes missing.
Each Family ID Kit includes a DNA cheek swab, an inkless activation pad and fingerprinting card. The fingerprinting card has step-by-step instructions detailing how to take a fingerprint, a standard fingerprint area, sections for recording a child’s physical description and identifying marks, sections for recording doctor’s phone numbers and a space for a current photograph. Family ID Kits are kept in the home by a parent/guardian and can quickly be turned over to law enforcement to assist their efforts to locate a missing person. 100 % of the kit and its contents are controlled by the parent/guardian.
“No parent or guardian wants to imagine their child or loved one missing, but we must be prepared,” said a representative from the AFCA/FBI National Child ID Program. “When a person goes missing every second is critical. In such a high stress situation, it is easy to forget key details. By recording the fingerprints and information in advance, parents and guardians are able to work effectively with law enforcement to help find a missing person. We commend Felipe Julio and TWIM for making it possible for families in their community to have this important safety tool.”
Missing Persons Statistics: In America, 800,000 children are reported missing every year (one child every 40 seconds). 450,000 of those children run away, 300,000 are abducted by family members and more than 58,000 are abducted by non-family members. There are 5.4 million Alzheimer patients in the U.S. and 60% exhibit wandering behavior.
